The thing is, I did not know about it. Some people came up my drive taking photos and they said they were on a shoot for Baracuta, a clothing company. They said they would not use any images for their company but they have.
I have written to them stating my fee for this unauthorised usage is one of their jackets in my size. Should they not just send me one I will set the legal dogs on them.

lovely shoot though -- and you are a cheap sport... might as well charge them 1000+ GBP

Was it on a public lane? I know from experience that you have some very different laws than we do regarding private property in a public domain.

car looks good,
but jacket looks like someone forgot it or found it laying in the street and put it there just to make it more noticeable
hey, if it works it works, but
just sue them and tell the story here

Oh deep joy. They are using it on their website as well. Wait for the rotating image. I think I will add a claim of hurt feelings and acute embarrassment for displaying the hopeless panel gaps on my door. Reputational damage!

The icing on the cake is when I went to the site, your photo was up in the rotation and the mandated popup declaring how much they value my privacy was right there on top of the photo of your car, that being evidence that they showed absolutely no respect to your privacy and rights. They should compensate you in some way. A jacket would be letting them off very easy.
I did some work for a dog treat company in Kansas City and was asked to produce some photos of their product, a dog bone shaped treat, to give the designers some ideas. No mention was made of them actually being used in production. Sure enough, one was chosen to be used on brochures and on the product packaging. While it was a small company, their sales were increasing almost exponentially and I had not signed a work-for-hire agreement. I made a seat of the pants guess at the value of my photo to them and presented them with a bill for $11k. They gulped and paid it. In less than a year they were bought out by a much larger company for hundreds of millions of dollars so I don't feel bad about it at all.

So I have not heard anything back from them, so I got all legal and sent them a firm but fair email. The holding company is based in Italy so I might need advice how to actually take legal action if they ignore me or try fobbing me off. Our house has been used for a feature film in the past and the director wanted the car in the shots. You may remember images of fake snow when it was 38 degrees C outside, so I pointed out that the house and car have commercial rights and that they should make an offer. Let's see what happens.
