I am thinking of going down with the E9 (if weather looks good) or the E23 (if the weather is less than good).
Don't know yet if I will go as I have a full plate of things I need to do and ... it is a bit of a hike from Seattle down to Portland... but what the hay. LOL - I have these cars to drive them, right?

Just thought I'd let the folks here know and - if it does work out, an early morning caravan could be in order. Probably going through Seattle at 5am or so.... a long day (at least an early morning).
Either way - Cheers!

Can't believe I'm going to miss this, we'll be on vacation. It would have been great to meet you and see your car in person.

No worries - I am still not super sure I will be able to go myself. Will see.
Either way - will try to get the E3/E9 gang together up here (PNW-wise) at some point.
Cheers
I'm rebuilding my carbs and buying my manual trans swap parts for the swap this summer! Looking forward to getting the cars together.

I ended up not going.... :(

It was HOT. At least hot for us in the coastal areas of Washington and Oregon. 97F (36C) in Portland yesterday and 86F (30C) at my place north of Seattle. I admit it - I am a weather wimp. There is a reason I live where it doesn't get too cold or too hot. I don't favor ether. :)

But the overriding reason I didn't go is that I have started to get some serious knee problems and... that is turning into a real PITA.
I will be leaving the house as soon as I finish typing this to get an MRI. Will see where this goes.
The joys of getting old.
And the recent talk of automatics and our cars....??? LOL - Those discussions take on a different tone for me now. :)

If anyone here did end up going to Portland yesterday- would be great to get some feedback on how it was and the cars there and all that...
Cheers!

Kevin,
Sorry about the knee issues. No fun. Good luck and here's to many more manual shifts in your future.

I did go to the BaT event. It was very well attended encompassing 4-5 blocks around the Avant-Garde warehouse. A very eclectic collect of at least two hundred cars I'd guess. It was good to meet long time BaT commenters from the area like PDXBryan and Groceg.

I met two coupe owners I did not know. Mark from Portland has a nicely modified Sahara 2800 he bought on bat in 2023 and David from Vancouver WA with a very nice stock 73 CSA. I'm hoping to see them next week at the NW vintage Gatering.
I didn't take enough photos. o_O

Thanks for the info on the BaT event... and for the good wishes on the knee.
MRI results are to me already (via the online medical system my doctors have) - Sounds like there are several issues, but I have an appt with an orthopedic Dr next week and he can let me know what the medical gibberish I read in my file means to me in real life.

As to the pics - Thanks a bunch. Would have been fun to go to. Hopefully we can get the PNW E3/E9 (and other 'real' BMW's) together sometime soon.

Keep the shiny side up.
