okay, this is the first post regarding CSLs in the coupe ancestry project ... and we are moving on to the LHD CSL.
If you own a LHD CSL, please look at the lists to find your VIN. if its there and you owned it on or before the year listed, we probably don't need any additional information unless you have significantly moved, changed colors ... or if your coupe is resting in peace (no longer with us). If your VIN isn't on this list, or if the date precedes your ownership / location is different, please send me a PM and we will add you to the list. Please notice that we only have info on 165 of the 596 LHD CSL ... we would like to know more. If you know of a CSL that is no longer with us, please let me know that. Please see the attached pdf <now on post 10 of this thread> - too much info to paste into a single post

here are our objectives - to find out all we know about
VIN (still living / on the road, gone forever / parts cars)
Color
Location (general, at most city / region + country)

what we aren't trying to ascertain - how original / what changes / restored or not ... if you want to provide any other info, we will keep it in the spreadsheet.
what we aren't going to do - we will NOT distribute or publish any information regarding owner, specific location.

There are 4 sections to this VIN post
1. cars that have been listed for sale at some point (auction or website)
2. cars with no verified or recent information
3. cars with the most recent information (dated) - last known country and last known color
4. cars with recently verified information (nothing else needed - this is a small list)

THANKS for your participation
scott

Dears, Patrik again, this is 2275 480. The way I like it for more than the last 25 years. It was polaris, partial Städtepaket, but I love my car being in turquis. It is still a running car in use and passion. It is running with a M88/3. For sure 3,2 is at home, also the alu trunk lid is stored, right now running on steel with Hand-wing. It is equiped only with the "rallye lamp" on the dashboard. If you like, you can see a movie about it under "car rangers" on youtube. Best regards Patrik

2275080 is Fjord not Polaris

thanks Tom,

my bad, it was listed as polaris in the CS register by a previous owner ... so glad to know its Fjord. the project has it revised and moved into the recently verified category. THANKS!

okay all CSL owners and people who know where a CSL lives ... the ancestry project for the variants of the CSL is getting much better and more complete. we know of 662 of 1286 CSL (including the 21 factory race cars). i will tell you that more than half of the known cars are RHD CSL (341 out of 500). so i am hopeful to increase the numbers from continental Europe, Canada, US, etc. for the carb CSL, 2275 cars and both bat series

please look through the attached pdfs and send me a message if your car doesn't show up. the information that you see in these pdfs are all that will ever be published to the general public / e9coupe forum members ... your name and city will be kept private (unless its a major metropolitan city like London, LA, Sydney, etc.) i have also been editing out e9coupe aliases (especially ones that are the person's actual name).

what i am interested in is VIN, general location, original color / current color (if different). additional info on previous owners / locations / and ownership time periods is also very useful information to document. another important thing is info on any CSL that is no longer with us - major crash, fire, rusted away ...

many thanks for your help
scott

@rsporsche, how many in the USA in total? Doesn't seem like that many!
Scott - some of these records are old and have not been verified recently, but my best guess is 92 out of 306 known / 765 built - LHD CSL.
carb CSL - 16 out of 54 known
2275 - 53 out of 164 known
2275 bat 1 - 13 out of 55 known
4355 bat 2 - 10 out of 33 known

Not sure if you saw my update about 4355044 in the other thread from a decade+ ago, but it has made an appearance in WA state once again! Polaris Bat with CR 5speed. 1975 dated car.

i had a conversation with a few people about 044, know what city it is in and who owns it, thank you. would be nice if MK was more active and join us here on e9coupe
