Friendly hello Halboyles….i think i have them AND working nicely. I have a 1969e3-2800 BUT have just learned by VERY knowledgeable vintage bmw Service/Resto shop Owner of last 35 yrs here in Westchester County NY…he informed me the dual carbs now in my 69e3 (that i recently bought to rescue & restore mechanically) are more for e9..something choke-related…so he ordered dual weber dgav for me to switch them. Unsure if current ones in car are webers or zenith but will know tomorrow and will look to sell them VERY cheaply anyway. But sincere good luck in your search if my situation doesn't work for you.Does anyone have a pair of the original Zenith carbs, working or not. I need to test fit the downdraft linkage kit I'm creating on those.
Thanks, Hal
Thank you Steve, message sent.I have a set of Zenith's that came off a running car but likely need a rebuild, they are complete. PM me for details.
Steve
I suspect our VERY knowledgeable vintage bmw Service/Resto shop Owner is thinking that tuning a pair of used Zeniths will be a lot of work with a small pay-off. On the other hand, he can bolt on a set of new Weber DGAV's and they'll run OK out of the box. And, he'll get the mark-up on the parts as well as the labor.e3 and e9 used same Zeniths, I don’t think he knows what he is talking about.
I'll send you a PM.I also have a spare set... Now that I have the M90 with Megasquirt, I don't have a need of them any longer (other than garage decoration)..... Actually - I have three of them now that I think of it.
One of them may be from a Mercedes however. Have never messed with them.
