Hey Thomas,
Just to check- would you know if these fit a 5 speed Gtreag setup? (I think so, but not sure)
If so, then I'm up for both of them. Can you Iet me know the total inc shipping please?

(No hurry - I'm still on holiday)

Erik.

Hi Erik,
so there are two versions of clutch bell housings and their corresponding slave cylinders.20250804_152742.jpg

The early version attached outside the bell housing, the upper one.
The later version attached to the bell housing by screws.
If you want to install the "Sportgetriebe" Getrag 265/5 you may use both versions.
If you want to install the "Schonganggetriebe" 265/6 only the later version will fit.
Both slave cylinders are still available, at 270€ and 50€ e.g. at W&N

Thanks Thomas,
I am planning to run the 265/6, the non-sport box, so from your explanantion I learn that I need the later style slave.
Can I just buy the Master then?

I also learn that the clutch bell housing I have (with the large rectangle opening) is the wrong one for my 265/6 Getrag.
Would you happen to have the later model bell housing with the screw points for sale as well?

Is this the correct slave cylinder (I looked it up on W&N through the 6 series parts):

Erik

Hi Erik,
Sure, you may take the master only.
Later model of clutch bell housing I should have one, let me check.

....and this is something rare to find: late version with the outlet at the front

Thomas, i could definitely use one, mine went missing at the paint shop ... i keep finding more and more things that got lost. i sent you a DM.
i have a stainless clutch line from LaJolla, one end is 90 degrees and the other is 135 degrees. i have a 5 speed, so i have the newer type of slave ... anybody have a good feel on which type of master i need ... i would think its the early type.

The master cylinder is the same for the two different slave cylinders.
If you have the 90° line installed already then this will be the one you'll need.
I'll put it aside for you.

Some more thoughts about the later bell housing
- make sure that this spring is installed

- the clutch release lever is different compared to the first version
- dito the release bearing

I was told about issues of bursted release bearings. First types came with metal housing, nowadays the seem to be made of plastic.
I would go for a good used one, with new grease.
Erik: I will send a DM later

Thomas, is there a difference in the hose type at the clutch master between the early and late models? my hose is most like the top hose. there is also a difference in length - 330 for the early hose and 370 for the later. notice the end difference on the later hose. bottom line is, if you have both types, i would prefer the early type ... if you only have the later type, i can just buy a new hose.

these are pics from W+N on their stainless hoses

Well,
let's have a look:
20250808_160042.jpg
Two different types of masters, two different type of slaves but only one screw joint that fits all.
This W&N screw joint does not fit any cylinder.

You may have to install a short brake line between this pipe and the cylinder.
Anyhow, I guess the one which is already installed in your car should fit!

great to know Thomas, and i appreciate you showing the pics with the hose. i just know that i need a clutch master ... since my car is just coming out of the paint shop, i know there is nothing on the car ... not sure if @bdigel put the clutch master back on, but i know the brake booster / master is not on the car as it was taken off at the paint shop ... so i don't think so ... and the booster was lost at the paint shop. luckily i bought a tii booster from @halboyles and i had a new brake master already. its going to be a lot of fun tracking down replacement stuff for the missing stuff.

i will send you a PM with my address and you can let me know the total with shipping and how you want me to send you money.

all the best + thanks!
scott
