1974 E9 Revival/Resto Thread

While I was in town over the mountains for the holidays, I managed to sneak away to the garage and do a quick inspection as well as grab a few additional photos before being summoned back for family duties. Did not get to check under the car as thoroughly as I would have liked. Nor did I get to check the spare tire well, as the trunk was packed to the brim with stuff. Very poor lighting in the garage sadly, and the flash seemed to be a bit much in some of the pictures. Some rodent activity in the engine bay, but nothing in the car or trunk that I saw.

Good Afternoon Folks,

I have my Webers apart and cleaned, soon to be reassembled and rejetted and ready for install along with the lovely 2002tii brake booster from Hal! I need to re do most if not all of the coolant lines will I am in there however I am away from the car for the next few weeks and I am trying to figure out which hoses I need to buy. Does anyone happen to have a list of BMW oem Part #s I can reference for a car that is getting triple webers? I already have a hardline that mounts under the intake manifolds that came off of my spare M30. I believe it is an E24 pipe?

guys, since Pittraider18 started this thread in 2023, he is no longer a new member ... and deserves to be in e9 discussion forum ... so it has been moved in-tact. perhaps @Pittraider18 might want to edit the title to his thread to something more about his car rather than 'new member'

Thank you! I have updated the thread title to something that reflects the current project status! Much appreciated.

You'll need 1,3, & 4 for starters.

Thank you! I've got a few on order and found my local BMW dealer parts friend to be a trove of knowledge since he works often with Patrick of Midnight Motorsports in West Seattle. Seems like I've got a decent pieced together list going. Just need to figure out the Disco'd Rad hose as well as the heater core lines! I believe I am also going to be plugging one of the coolant passages on block by cylinder 6. My spare motor that came with the triple webers has the barb fitting pinched and welded closed.

Haven't had a whole lot of time to spend with the car in recent time with the passes and weather etc. Still stockpiling some parts and cleaning things up when I can.

Small update:

Triple Webers rebuilt. (I kept the somewhat grungy look to match the car for now, internals and seals are all fresh. I've acquired a thermo housing spacer to clear manifold)

Bosch SR441x starter installed. (Left the black/red wire unhooked)

Fuel system parts acquired. (Carter P4070, Holley 12-804, Revolution fuel pump controller, small fuel pressure gauge, plenty of brass fittings)

Found some rust in the passenger rocker I need to cut out and address.

I need to find/buy the shim for the speedo drive gear and get that installed. I've never pulled apart a getrag but it looks like I can get away with just pulling the rear-most case? Looking forward to getting the carbs installed along with the cooling system redone and getting this thing road worthy-ish enough to putt around town this spring/summer til the trans swap and suspension goodies.
