Very sure my clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel (slave moves as it should.) Is there a way to get it loose w/o removing everything? TIY
Tried that, no luck. Will try again, this time I will keep the car from moving…Your clutch disc is directly coupled to the trans input shaft by the splines. If you release the pressure from the pressure plate by pushing the clutch pedal while the trans is in gear and then rotate the engine, it should free the disc. You can do this with the starter if the engine is not running.
You could jack up the rear wheels, start the car in gear, rev it up, disengage the clutch then apply the brakesTried that, no luck. Will try again, this time I will keep the car from moving…
Doesn't that send massive forces back into the block untill it breaks free? Is that healthy for things like pistons, conrod & bearings, rings etc?You could jack up the rear wheels, start the car in gear, rev it up, disengage the clutch then apply the brakes
Not really. It's similar dumping the clutch at the start of a drag race, except less. I drag raced a 4-speed car for years and never broke any engine parts.Doesn't that send massive forces back into the block untill it breaks free?
