Friendly Hello everyone…ok, sadly i am parting e28-535is SalmonSilver 5sp…is there somewhere in bmw-focused world ANYONE interested in Motor / Getrag 5sp Transm and have several very nice body panels (doors too, Hood & trunk) in salmon silver…looks dark greyish/silver…i see no salmon in paint color (wink/smile)). anyway, parts are in a CT shop and i just want to give them to someone who can use them and not have to carelessly junk these good parts…thus, VERY cheaply ! can work with you on shipping too if you a nice understanding person (smile)…thomas in NY

If the Getrag is in good shape people will travel for that.
@Arde thank you for fast reply….i hope so….i am VERY understanding , willing to work with someone / anyone who is serious about these parts and not asking for the moon…very likely not even asking for equal value…just looking for someone who can actually use them in their projects…

I'm interested in the Getrag 5-speed and can arrange shipping.
@halboyles ok thank you for your reply…i am at the CT spot/bmw shop this Sunday midday hours where items are…can take pic of Getrag Trans and share with you then….as shared initially, main focus is to find people who can actually use items for their own projects..

The first 535i cars in America were a bit of a mess until September of 1985 - the first model year. They actually used a getrag 265/6 until September and from then on they used the 260/6. One year only - September 1984 to September 1985.
Always worth checking the VIN when you search a 535i in the junkyard, you could get lucky and get a good Tranny. Sort of a secret stash deal for tranny guys- 5er, 6er and 7er all got the one year only getrag 265/6 coveted tranny. You do have to put in the speedo gears to make them work in our coupes. The other stash tranny was the e30 M3- needless to say you don’t see too many of those!
