Thoughts on exposing your Coupe to rain

Yup, 2016 in Del Rey Oaks across from the Safeway on Laguna Grande, down the road from Mike Burger's house. Big Sur fires covered everything is gritty ash that year.
You went through the car wash? My painter would need a defibrillator if I did that—and probably hire a hitman just to make sure I never do it again.

PS if you ever need to that t again, promise me you’ll use a touchless wash and say three Hail Bavarias afterward

It has been raining cats and dogs here in the Carolinas this week but the BMW Classic Car Club has been having a blast.

Yup, I have leaks that I didn’t know I had, but I have dry storage and a plan to dry out the areas and a few new projects to work on!

Just drive and enjoy your cars!

Mine has had a few dozen kilos of zinc paint, cavity wax and underbody seal to keep the rust monsters at bay. I also seam sealed thoroughly and made sure that the drains in the sills and doors were open and able to let water to pass through. Also boxed up the inner fender metal for less places for crud to hide and routed the front sunroof drains through the a pillar into the inner arch rather than draining into the sills.

These cars love to be driven so although I wont go out in torrential rain being caught in a downpour isn't the end of the world. Have a small but powerful air blower off amazon I use to blow the water off the car. As someone mentioned above, what is more frightening are other road users.

If driving in the wet though make sure you have secured your wipers properly!

Once the roads get salted the car is tucked up till spring
