'74 Inka Euro Coupe on Hemmings

says 74 but has 73 and earlier seats. no pics of the engine compartment or underside. says it came to Georgia, perhaps this was one of the cars from that guy who bought several on speculation (right after the market softened) - something like 'the one and only' alias. for a car with an ask of 120k, you would expect to see more of the technical areas

Crazy to me that in 92 photos there isn't a single one of the engine. Agree as well on the underside lack of photos, especially since the place clearly can lift up cars, but the engine?? You had the hood open for some of the photos and didn't take a single picture inside? Real lack of attention to...well, I can't even say detail.

Hmm, even though the new photos are more “professional”, the old ones do a much better job of representing the car. We know it has (had) an engine, although that fusebox looks like someone has been having some fun. And even though I’m someone who did opt for a Retrosound head unit since I wanted Bluetooth instead of the 1990s Alpine unit my car came with, any of those options seem better than that very questionable iPad “upgrade” someone made.

This was his last listing on BaT as he was banned for bidding on the 74 Granatrot I sold and did not follow through, claimed his 12 yo nephew must have had his phone and submitted the high bid accidentally. And 100 psi compression as Kevin commented during the auction, wow!

His last BAT sale he threw the conspiracy card when his car didn't sell when it appeared the engine was shot..

Run like hell...

I'm sure that's what kept it at the low price on BAT. It's good that he was honest and posted the numbers, but one shouldn't be disappointed when you don't get top price for a car that needs an engine rebuilt. Most likely that 2800 km was on the second time around and 128000 km is just shy of 80,000 miles. It shouldn't be worn out at that mileage, but if is what it is. It did look like the restoration was down to bare metal and if the rust was all repaired it would have good bones, but nobody is going to expect to buy a complete restoration and want to have to pull the engine and spend another 10k to freshen up the engine. I wonder if this seller is aware of what he has on his hands. The car is now in Grand Rapids Michigan and that dealer (who appears to do a lot of consignments) has more pics than are on Hemmings, including pics of the engine and the underside, that appears to have been undercoated with a broom. If one hadn't seen the previous BAT listing they might think it's a good car. I'm curious as to what a fair price would be if the engine was good for a car in this condition?

That car has been for sale for a long time, and the market has spoken. It’s likely worth what it bid to in 2021, certainly not the current asking price.
