Question about E3 wheels

Who was the original wheel manufacturer for the E3? Was it Cromodora?

This photo from another forum discussion is perfect for my question (rim on the left side):

The E3 wheels have remarkable similarity to these Cromodora's for the Ferrari Dino:


The BMW wheels have 5 vents while the Dino rims have 6... but the design structure is quite similar.
 
Although they look very similar to the Cromodoras, e3 and e9 14” alloys were manufactured by FPS.

I've owned a few that were made by Mahle. The parts catalog lists both manufacturers.
