I spent some time on this at the weekend with no luck.
Swapped out the ecu and map sensor
Blanked off the cold start injector
Cold start sprays for about 3-5 seconds on start and then shuts off cleanly.
Ultrasonic cleaned the (new) plugs which are now equally black and wet.
Still barely holds an idle with black smoke and wet black muck from exhaust.
As far as I can see there’s no cross contamination of fluids.
I still have the old dizzy that could be re fitted.
Any more ideas?
Thanks.

Do a vacuum check on the MAP. Pump up to 0.5 bar, if it drops to 0.45 in less than 10 seconds, or it doesn’t hold at all, the MAP will have to be rebuilt. AMHIK. And make a contribution to SF Don who will likely become a very good friend if you continue to have D-jet problems.

Have you looked inside the distributor cap? Some people have had problems with the shaft seal on 123 distributors. Oil inside the cap indicates a problem.

You appear to have eliminated most fuel injection components as possible suspects and established that your engine is not being deprived of fuel. If your engine still used the original ignition system, it would seem prudent to rule out any obvious issues with the distributor cap (including the carbon button at the top of the cap upon which the rotor rotates) in addition to the fuel ignition “trigger” points found at the distributor base . . . and . . . the points and condenser. I am unfamiliar with the 123ignition system but you might consider referring to this troubleshooting site: https://123ignitionusa.com/trouble-shooting/ Alternatively, consider swapping out the 123 for the original distributor with a different cap and rotor. And don't overlook a possible problem with your coil and any related ballast/resistance wire.

I’ve tested the Map and swapped it for another (albeit untested) one, with no change.
Going to try a new coil next and the. Refit the old dizzy.

Thanks, going to try a new coil next followed by the old dizzy if no joy.

Worse over rich car I ever worked on was actually a case of bad spark.
Put that spare spark plug on the valve cover and watch for the color and intensity of the spark
