'72 3.0 CSL for sale

5099 was built on 11-28-72 and delivered to Wolfgang Denzel in Vienna on 12-6-72. it lived in Hanover, Germany for a lot of its life and was sold by Oldenzaal in 2020, then was for sale in the USA in New Paltz, NY ... been at Canepa since 2025
 
this pic makes me have questions ... perhaps its the lighting / photography. but doesn't this pic make it look like the drivers side is 3 different colors? out of curiosity, what are they asking for it?

I think their attitude is 'put a ridiculous price on it and sooner or later it might appreciate to that price"... OTOH as PT Barum said "there's one born every minute"... Maybe someone will walk in and decide this is on their bucket list and they want it and money is no object. There are those folks around too.. Either way when you do business like that you get a reputation for requiring suckers and real buyers stop considering you because they know what a fair price is.
 
That might all be true. Canepa is a huge business, though. Whatever he is doing is going well. Huge race teams. Porsche 959 remanufacturing. It's a very impressive place. He has a unique market that he services. Clearly not looking for buyers who turn their own wrenches.
 
It does seem to be several shades of silver to my eyes too …
it does, but my guess is lighting / photography. nobody would ask that kind of money for a car that had that significant of a flaw ... and that would have been Chris' opening comment.
