My fuel pickup/sending unit was leaking at the tank do to the plastic piece that fits over the metal hose and in between the rubber hose is missing. What can I use to replace the plastic piece?

@halboyles has been very generous about sending out a small section of hose material to use as a bushing to those that need it.

I used a smaller bit of hose with a brass reducer to transition from the original hose size (either 7 or 8mm) to the smaller size. While you are in there it is a good time to replace all the old fuel hose that is buried under the trunk floor and also to replace your sending unit o-ring.

The leak around the connection caused gas to leak onto the o ring which caused it to stretch. I happened to have some spare o rings. found a plastic plastic section buried in some old clothe covered hose I had, everything is back together now.
