m30 / m90 curiosity question

been wondering about this for a bit ... question is which engine models had single width timing chain, which ones had double width? can't recall anybody ever talking about it, but i know both exist.

My m90 has a single. From a 735i E23 Sept 1979

my memory is poor but I think pre 78 had double while 79 and later were single

1989 535 M30b35 had single

The M90 has a single. I believe the M88/S38 have a double row chain (same block as the M90).

M88 has a single also. S38 has double.
