Ok I’m asking to get flamed for posting this in THIS thread given our general thoughts on this Frankenstein car, but I did end up purchasing those Campy wheels. There had been a similar set a few weeks ago and I had liked their look. They seem quite rare, so when this one came up and in better condition I pulled the trigger. They will be a very different (alternative) look to the 16” Weds Bavaria wheels which I’ll keep and swap out depending on the feel I’m looking for. I had ChatGPT mock up what these would look like compared to my 16” wheels. I don’t think that it quite captured the additional sidewall that a 14” will have but I liked the sporty look. Flame awayNot only do I not like those wheels on this car, I never liked them on the Z8 either. I guess they are my "Green Eggs and Ham," wheels.
I would not like them on an E24.
I would not like them on an E31.
I would not even like them on an F85.
I do not like them Sam-I-am.
I'm guessing the car would be the tiniest bit under-tired with these wheels, but I think these would be just the ticket.

I prefer the Alpinas, but that's just what I'm used to. Those Campy's look correct, if unusual, which, is a good thing.
-Have seen 16" Ronal Aero/Racing "dinner plate" wheels on a coupe that looked good too.

No one will flame you for those sometimes unique is a good thing.
Yes, I think I was slightly more poking fun
of course, and I do like their look, but sometimes, as in the case of this E39/9 sometimes unique can be a little controversial and I am completely fine with someone saying “yeah not my thing”. My E9 is not concours and has what I hope are respectful upgrades while keeping true to the design. But I know for others feel that any deviation isn’t the way to go. That’s part of the fun on this site - people are respectful but also honest, and we all get to learn from one another and choose what parts are going to be relevant to our project
