I'll admit I've been distracted by the larger concerns for my car, rust, engine, electrical, sourcing parts, as well as moving houses a couple of times. But today I noticed that the front overriders don't match. The rubber covers are the same, but the passenger side overrider has large gaps above and below the bumper at the back side.
Doing some searching on the site, I've found that the 1973 overriders are different and one year only. I believe that my car suffered a front end mishap at sometime in the past because the fenders are rust free, unlike the rest of the body.
It makes sense that a correct overrider was not found when the car was being put back together and the shop doing the work didn't know or care that the 1973 version is different.
It looks like I'll be in the market for an early passenger side overrider and will eventually have a '73 version for sale.
That's my story anyway. Any comments?
