Looking for an unmarked (or as unmarked as can be expected) set of standard steel wheel hub caps and trim rings for the E3. I'm not sure if there are variations however my car is a late '72 build therefore whatever is correct for that period. I'm in the UK therefore need to consider postage costs but will consider any location if the parts are in top condition.

Not familiar with the details on the E3, is it this one?

There are at least 2 variations of the trim rings and 3 of the hubcaps. I don't know for sure which years took which rings and caps. The rings are very soft metal. It is hard to find a set in good condition of either style of rings. In the late 70's and 80's most trims and caps (and steel wheels) were thrown out and replaced by aftermarket or later year BMW alloy wheels. The center roundels are still available new.

Tom, the first set you show appear to be one-piece. I believe they are13" for the '02.

It took me a long time to source the correct rings and caps for my Bavaria. But thanks to Dick Steinkamp they now reside on my Agave '72. The photo above from E3_UK shows the correct ring and cap combination. Click on Tom's link just above and scroll through the photos, lovely. That's why I switched from the alloys with the small center cap shown above. Seems like a good price, e150 for the set.

I'm a bit confused by the photo's. One shows a diameter around 150mm for the cap and the other somewhere around 250 maybe ?. Measuring my wheel the cap would be approx. 240mm so I'm not sure what the 150mm photo is. That's more like the smaller diameter cap for the alloys.

I can't register with the German website as it requires a phone number from within the EU to activate the account therefore no UK numbers are allowed.

As I understand it requires a German mobile number to register. If you need assistance please let me know

Tom has helped with the purchase of the set of rings and caps. Primarily as the rings are NOS so should not be damaged (unless in transit). I'll see what the caps are like but may look for better ones if not as perfect as I'd like.
Thanks Tom.

Thomas, out of curiosity, what are NOS caps like these selling for now? not using original wheels, just curious in case someone in the general public is thinking about putting these wheels on an e3 or updating their original wheels on their e9. its also a good comparison when looking at good used (and i don't have any good used to sell).

I have a set of E3 center caps and I think six trim rings. The center caps are fine, will need new center emblems but that's easy. I may have some of those, I have to see if they are the right size. The rings are pretty beat to be honest, and not easy to straighten. Took me like 5 years to find a clean set. But if you are interested you are welcome to all of that for shipping cost. I ran my car for years with just the center caps on after repainting the wheels, looked pretty decent that way. I can take some pics this weekend.
