i know that shipping costs to the other side of the pond are expensive, i am sorry for that, but i would like to inform that the two last original chromed exhaust tips, NOS, NLA are available

while closing the deal for exhaust tips, a gentleman called BMW Pete gives me this answer after he realizes that the shipping costs were pretty high:

2800cs chrome exhaust tips available

hi,

i found a stock of " ONLY 3" , three original exhaust chrome tips for the 2800 e9 coupe version

this is 56mm diameter, instead of the 60mm (that corresponds to the 3.0 version)

so if you have an original exhaust in your 2800 coupe, this is your tip !

same superb status and quality, NOS, same price

The 55mm tips are still available from BMW, not sure if you are aware of this. RealOem has them listed and they are only $19. Two also on ebay for $18.95 each. It is the 60mm that is no longer available.
 
Check the length - the cheap 55mm tips are often 80mm long, not 100mm which is what is oem, looks better and harder to find.
