How is the shifter leather boot with zipper held into the console piece?
I see this part number. 51161811290 Called a holding strap.

NA of course. Has anyone made up something for this? Looking for ideas?

Thanks,
Gary

As I recall, nothing more than a metal strap with drill holes spaced out to accept tacks to hold the strap (and boot) in place. You should be able to use any light gauge sheet metal.

Standby.....film at 11 DQ?

That's guys I'll look into that idea.
I'd like to have something with a little spring to it to help hold the boot tight up against the wall of the console.
Maybe a fiberglass batten from a sail could work?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary,

not sure a sailboat batten would be flexible enough to turn the corners to keep the boot close to the edges. i have attached an image of my spare console showing the metal strap that is fastened to the edge of the opening.

Thanks Scott,
You are right, probably won't go aroung the corners. I thought about heating it to see if I could shape it.
Metal looks easier so need to see what I can find.

That strapping works like it would work, I cut a strip of aluminium, bent it to shape and screwed it into place.
