These were available for sure on the euro e24s and I am sure for other cars, but I don't know about E9s. If anyone has one or even the bracket to mount to the seat, I really need the eye candy

I do not have pictures and figure I will have to wing it. I am mostly interested in the seat mount bracket, either to buy, or even borrow so I can duplicate it. I figure one day I will find an extinguisher. I did find several in Europe, but because of the nature of the beast, the fellow I found them with, doubts they can be shipped due to the nature of the beast

Ill post some pictures over the weekend. I have the bracket and rechargeable fire extinguisher. It took me forever to find so I'm afraid it's not for sale. Maybe you can try the e24 boards ??

As you said, it took forever to find. I have checked all boards, but I will keep looking, as somewhere out there, is one meant for me.

fire control...

I'm not even sure what the "type" of unit this is (oil, electrical, etc..), but curious about viability...is there a "use before" date, or is this just for decorative purposes? It is a cool looking unit....Also a noob at this sort of thing...

Apologies for not making myself more clear. My car is an early E24 Euro and the FE is a proper item for it. The bracket mounts under the front seat. Original manufacturer is Gloria. Their FE's are still available in bright red, and they can be googled. But it is the bracket that is the challenge

I have this type also but was thinking about getting a Halon-type one because don't these leave a nasty corrosive residue?

Since the FE was not original equipment on the E9, I assume you are not going for a stock original look. I bought this FE off Amazon, and it mounted below and in front of my passenger seat relatively easily.

Looks pretty good as well, but there are a ton of other options in red or other colors.

Bingo, thanks for the link

I also was really only after the bracket. When I bought the bracket, the extinguisher came with it. I dont keep the extinguisher in the car, but it is pretty cool. I use one that's designed for autos:

True, its not factory correct for the E9, but Im OK with upgrades that improve safety--like my SS brake lines.

This is a great thread. I have a very heavy FE in a plastic tray laying in the back floorboard. It is an absolutely necessary item in in the car. This will get me pointed in a problem solving mode of where and how to mount it.

I think the plastic tray is still available. I believe it is the same as on an E30. I have to meet someone to pick up some parts, but will post part# later and you can check on realoem
