Attempting to test fit my rocker panel covers and they don't seem to fit well.Does the large vertical chrome trim at the back of the door opening go on first or do you put the rocker covers on first?

which chrome trim - the inner or the outer. the inner is the last one to go on. i believe the one at the back jamb of the door goes on first and the outer one overlaps the rear trim.

i had the inner chrome trim off of my car today, doing exploratory work to figure out the size of speakers i could put in the kick panels on either side of the foot wells.

hope this helps

if is the case of the chrome that you can see in this pic, the chrome will be first on its place fixed with rivets, and then the panel

check the whole thing here:

i figured he meant the metal panel at the back of the door jamb - where the door latch is. he said chrome - and that might be the part that adds to the confusion - as that is the only part that intersects the rocker trims

although i could be totally wrong.

Sorry for the confusion, yes I meant the vertical chrome trim piece that the door latch bolts thru. The rocker panel cover is a tight fit and the cut out for where it lays on the door sill seems to be restricted by the large chrome trim piece being in place.

You must fit the rocker panel cover before you fit the chrome trim piece.

help us out here, are you talking about the body colored rocker cover ... or the chrome trims - the inner one covers the edge of the carpet and the door seal ... the outer one edges the outside of the door seal and keeps the paint from getting scratched up.

here is a pic from my car - ignore the electrical tape on the door seal - i need a new seal. Henrik is right, the painted rocker cover goes on 1st, then the door jamb trim, then the door seals ... then the outer chrome trim, then the inner chrome trim.

hope this works out
scott
