All Aluminum Radiator - Looking for Tester - So Cal Only!

I am still smarting from the failure of the 5 year old Aluminum Nissens radiator ruinining my automatic transmission, so when I see aluminum I cry.

Thanks all for your support.

We are testing it on a 71 Bavaria with M90 engine that is modified(dyno'd at 202 RWHP). Currently we are running it without fan clutch and fan, relying on just the aux. electric fan with 82 C switch. It is also running 80 C thermostat. The e-fan only came on for a short time when sitting at traffic lights in 86 F weather here. Full throttle runs were steady and e-fan never came on.

Anyway, it is a green light for production. We will have 20 pieces@ $399 each available next week(Monday or Tuesday) and they will be first sold by the reserve list that we have collected.

Shipping weight is about 15 lbs. CA sales tax is 8.75% for all CA orders.

If you would like to purchase one please PM or post here. We will contact and confirmed with all interested parties by this Friday 03/22.

Thanks.

Group shipping is definitely cheaper but it looks like there are 5 of you guys interested but locations varies from Perth, 2 Melbourne and 2 Sydney.

Anyway, I can get all 5 boxes shipped as one for $490 via economy air freight to airport. Shipping individually using U.S. Postal Priority Mail it is $165 each.

I am working on reducing the packaging size to lower the cost of USPS Priority Mail shipping but won't know until tomorrow.

So if one of you would like to handle shipping locally I would be happy to make arrangement with you.

Let me know.

Thanks.

Thanks Draleu, not sure how the group shipping thing works when we're located thousands of kms apart but happy to be educated . Otherwise , I guess it's $165 each for shipping ?. What's the deal with payment and to whom /when /how on the actual radiator ? ...has the price ( ex shipping) been confirmed yet ?Sorry if my questions are inane but just thought I needed to clarify . Feel free to PM me but there may be some other dumb Aussies like me who don't know how this works . Appreciate the time and effort you have obviously gone to for the "greater good"

Cheers, Simon

Can you please confirm price per radiator? Also what is the price to melbourne for two units?I'd be interested to know if the second Melbournian might want to have the units sent as a pair to one address to save freight costs? I'm I'm St Kilda...

I have run my Bav with a similar setup and results for about 2 years and thousands of miles. The fan comes on about twice a year when I get caught in traffic for an extended period of time.

Hi Simon,

The way group shipping would work is that we ship all 5 units together as one box to a single address where the person residing there is willing to accept the delivery and then break it down to ship to the other 4 persons. That person will have to pay for all 5 units and the shipping cost as he would be the person purchasing it. We would treat it as a wholesale order and discount will be provided to make it worthwhile for the person to resell and redistribute to the other 4 persons. They will each pay the person handling the shipment $399 + shipping cost(US to AU and AU to local cities).

As far as payment, we will send out PayPal money request as soon as the radiators are ready for shipping. We are hoping that we can get all radiators assembled and pressure tested by this Friday or by the weekend. So if you are in line for a unit you will see a PayPal money request by the weekend.

Thanks.

20 units are being produced at $399 each. There is little advantage in shipping 2 boxes as one. Price is $280 ($140 each) and one of you will have to be the purchaser for both units and resell to the other person.

*** Shipping Update To All In Australia***

Due to the size of the package there is no other way of reducing it enough to lower the cost of Priority Mail International without compromising packaging integrity. Price for shipping via USPS Priority Mail International stands at $165.

If you want one please PM your PayPal address to confirm. Thanks.

Received a PM from one of the guys inquiring about the warranty. Below is a cut and paste of the reply. Thanks.

Thanks for the reminder. Too many things going on and forgot to disclose the warranty info.

Anyway, warranty is limited lifetime. It covers the original purchaser in the original install under normal use. Warranty covers defects in materials or workmanship and does not cover the usual accidents, commercial usage, racing, off road, human error, abuse, misuse, negligence, electrolysis damage, salt corrosion, faulty temperature warning system and is not transferable.

Your welcome guys

David, In your 2 pic's the top hose neck is different. My72 Csi radiator looks like the one not wrapped in bubble wrap. Is that what you are building? I am also running a aux electric fan. What is the size of the nipple for the switch, just planning ahead.

Thanks Barry

My bad. The pic with bubble wrap has the radiator upside down so it looks different.

Sensor thread is your typical BMW/Bosch temperature sensor size. I don't know the exact size but I can look up the sensor part numbers for you tomorrow.

Shipping cost

Hi Draleu, just something I thought I would put into the mix ....I recently made some inquiries about importing some E9 stuff from US and asked about shipping cost ...the supplier said that the quote from UPS was "insanely high" and was going to get price from Fedex (which has yet to be obtained) .Maybe those that do this on a reguar basis know who is best value BUT whatever you select I'm happy to go along with .

Perhaps UPS think Aussies can afford to pay more given exchange rate :D

Cheers,Simon

Shipping via USPS (US Postal Service) is the cheapest. Using UPS or FedEx only works when shipping heavy items.

For Australia however there aren't many options when it comes to big boxes that don't weigh much. Anyway, if anyone has cheaper option to Australia we are all ears.

Thanks.

p/s we are getting ready for packaging and paperwork this weekend. If you want one please pm us your PayPal address as we do not have many units left. Thanks.

Took delivery of the aluminum radiator yesterday as David dropped it off at my house on his trip to the SF Bay Area. Everything as advertised. Beautifully crafted and finished, especially with the nice "overlapping dime" bead welds. Very nicely manufactured indeed. Thanks David!

Nice! Just waiting for mine to arrive and hopefully it will keep my temps down during our hot 110*f in the summer.

Just want to let you guys know there was a small hiccup with my packaging company and we had to purchase boxes from a radiator shop to get everyone one's orders going.

Anyway, the introductory production is over and we are producing regular runs now. Suggested retail price is $499 and will be available soon at your local shops and web stores.

Again thank you all for your support.
