Vintage Blaupunkt on eBay

The letter H indicates 1976 production. Label say Stereo but I only see one set of speaker outputs. Would make the iPod feature less than desirable for sound if only mono.

+1! That's a deal with the correct nobs.
Frankfurt would be the period correct unit, but this is darn close!

Yep, I just paid dearly for a nice set of knobs from Germany so this looks like a good deal.

European market radios have the FM only going up to 104 which means that when using it in the US, you'll miss out on stations that transmit between 104 and 108.

Smoking Radio

No, the radio is not smoking, but clearly the previous owner did. It smells so bad I had to seal the box back up. Other than letting it air out, does anyone have any recommendations on how to de-smoke products prior to putting them in my car?

Also, the radio has a square face plate, but am I wrong in thinking I dont need this since this will be going into a car with AC with the holes cut into the vent?

Lastly, I will want to take the face plate off of the radio regardless just to get a good cleaning. Do the knobs and slides (wheels behind the knobs for tuning and channel selection) just slide off as well?

Did I mention this thing stinks to high heaven?

Yes, knobs and controls pull straight off giving access to faceplate nuts. But, it looks like you have a DIN mount behind the faceplate. If the plastic face does not separate from the DIN plate you will need a new faceplate to cover the nose of the radio when mounted. Don't cut a DIN opening in your AC panel! If its already there then no problems.

If the smoke smell is period correct keep it.
Gitanes with no filter would be the right smell as I always say.
