NUmbers Matching Car????? Am I missing Something???

This BMW CS on Ebay claims to be a numbers matching car yet has a California BAR sticker showing a 1968 car with 1970 motor. Am I missing something here?? If engines apparently don't count what is considered a numbers matching car, the doors both match??

The "Numbers matching" are exactly what you mention with engine and VIN. For most E9 owners that's really no big issue what I noticed in this forum.

This car looks nice from a long distance , but in closer look due to pics this car could got a green quick "make over" ;-)

The coupe is a 70 so BAR is correct, they got it right, except on the first line it says model 1968 which is obviously wrong. Nothing indicates they checked engine number but it might match.

Because the last four digits of 3032 indicate it would have been built in 1970, it is on the bottom of the BAR decal. Only 138 2800CS coupes were built in 1968 and this isn't one of them in my opinion. The BAR isn't going to use a motor number as a VIN when the VIN is stamped into the body itself.
