I happened across a 1970 2800 Coupe in a junkyard today. They have an all you can carry sale on July 6th. It was a Brown 4 speed car with enough rust to be in a junkyard. Cameras were not allowed in this junkyard, so I couldn't snap anything. The headlights and front bumper were missing as was the tool kit, side markers and steering wheel. The suspension and driveline were intact. The interior was Tan Vinyl and in acceptable condition. Door cards in place, carpet, etc. The carpet was bad. All Glass was in place. The side trim was OK, the rear bumper pretty good. Under the hood it all looked there. The car had a Brown Vinyl roof (That was a Bad era).

I will be out of town then and don't really need anything on the car, but wouldn't mind some spares like an alternator, overflow tank, switches, etc. This is an all you can carry over a 20 foot span sale. If you are creative you can use parts of the car to hang stuff off. I have seen some Herculean efforts at these sales. It was good to be back in a junkyard after many years. I used to keep my cars on the road with the help of a junkyard. . It is located at Standard AUto Wreckers in Scarborough, Ontario.
Couldn't find a Vin on the car.

Someone has to go and

retrieve the rear bumper (I need one)!
It also might have an LSD (some of the 2800cs and sedans had them)!

2800 CS in Scarborough

Hi Bob,

Do you have an address for this place?
I called standard Auto wreckers but they didnt know anything bout it.
I may have the wrong place.

I would like to go by and take a look.

Thanks in Advance

The guy told me that inventory is turned over quickly, so this E9 might be due for the crusher quite soon. A bit like a Puppy in distress at the pound.
If you go, bring work boots . It is Muddy. The Coupe is on the left hand side after you walk through the gates.

Try to get the can relays and the plug they go to. Get at least 4 inches of wire
Grab the plastic plugs at the front of each door (whitish color) and the black plastic bits on the trunk hinges. The hinge for the hood if intact is always needed.
Expansion tank

All you can carry E9 parts

I need the tiny screws that hold the rear elephant skin covered panel in place

Stopped by the graveyard to look at the 2800 cs.

Interior is mostly gone except the dash and front seats.
Will return to try to get the dash vents and seats.

Most of the bits Stan mentioned are gone. Will look in the trunk tomorrow as it's full of junk.

Hard to get to since it's stacked on a civic.

Car is #2270573

If possible, I need only one of those plastic nuts (that you can take off with your fingers) that hold the tail-light housings on. ~ John Buchtenkirch

I looked for those today, but nothing to be seen. The car had an odd assortment of screws and fasteners as it had been apart before. Even had a few Robertson (Square head) screws.
Anyone know if the struts are useful and getting hard to get? I almost had them off (One nut to go) then thought to myself , I am just going to move this stuff under the porch where it will sit. Calipers looked very rusty.

Just wondering another thing. Does anybody need the drum brake stuff in the back? Are they getting hard to find? It would be expensive to ship no doubt. This place crushes 120 cars per day.

Anyone going to a junk yard needs to look for these, very, very rare. Some of you know what they are, for those who don't, care to guess?

i really haven't run across these (yet). my first guess is that they might be a bump stop for the gas door ...

it looks like it would be a stop to keep some moving part from hitting metal to metal.

Now that you mention it +1.

They are the rubber plugs for the gas filler boot, they cover the access holes. It seems like 9 out of 10 coupes are missing these.

The one in the junkyard was missing these. Victor managed to snag the boot though.

This is the kind of stuff
