i have a pair of wires that come through the firewall next to the brake booster / steering column. one looks like blue / white and the other looks like green / white (yellow). they both have female flag spade connectors and are in a plastic cover together. the tubing is about 30" to 36" long. anybody have a clue where they go? i don't find them on the CS wiring diagram. perhaps they were added as part of the L-jet / motronic wiring by a PO.

Can you post a picture? So they come through the firewall but then end without terminating anywhere?

coming thru the firewall below the clutch master opening

i found / removed the green white wires that used to go to the chokes already - they were routed with the starter wires in the wiring harness. these 2 wires run on their own ... so i'm starting to wonder if these go to the cold start valve for injection. which would make sense color wise. i guess i need to get inside the car and find out where they hook up.

on the 2800cs / early 3.0cs (USA), the wiring diagram does show a blue / white wire ... but shows a green / black - that turns to violet / black when it goes thru the reverse light plug. it could make sense that it would follow the path of the slave cylinder pipe to get to the tranny ... but i thought that wire went thru the transmission tunnel on the drivers side? if not, which wire is that?

okay, i will pull out the blue book tomorrow and take another look. i was looking at the pdf that i made years ago, could be the wrong one. it makes sense since it is right next to the slave cylinder ... both wires are run in a protective tube so it makes sense that it would run in an area where there is heat.

when i get inside the car i will try to figure out what is going thru the tranny tunnel. i thought i sheared off a wire when removing the floor insulation. there is an indention in the tunnel for a wire - no idea what it is ... i just assumed it was the reverse light wire.

Anyone have any input on installing a fuse panel upgrade?
If you mean installing one of the two newer fuse panels available, either from Holy Grail or from one of the forum members here, I did it a few months ago. Very straightforward. Both look relatively equivalent in terms of features and installation is just swapping over connectors, it's a 1:1 swap. The only annoyance is working in tight quarters. I used the Holy Grail one because it was available, but I think it's a bit more expensive than the one created by one of the forum members here - that one I'm not sure is yet shipping in larger quantities. But yes, easy to do and takes under an hour.

okay guys, time to come back to this question. remember, i have a '71 2800cs ... i have a pair of wires that is part of the harness for the window switches - right at the middle of the tranny tunnel. there is a pair of green / white + blue / white wires. these wires enter the tranny tunnel on the drivers side. you can see the hole right near the sheared off wire. i will note that my car was originally a CSA and i have no idea where the connector wires ran from the tranny position switch to the tranny indicator on the dash. so far, i have not found a blue / white wire running through the firewall.

in looking through the wiring diagram, i only find one blue / white wire and it goes to the reverse switch. there is also one that goes to the tranny position switch on the CSA. finding a blue / white running with a green / white is the problem that i don't find on the wiring diagram. any ideas? perhaps it was something that whoever converted from an automatic to a manual tranny did.

yes, but the 3.0cs goes thru the firewall + down the tranny tunnel ... not thru the tranny tunnel. my guess is this was done by whoever did the swap.
