Greetings from Michigan

I'm searching for an E9 with an automatic trans. Yes, I know they are slush boxes but I'm an amputee so I can't manage three pedals. I found an auto in Rhode Island and I'm searching for a mobile mechanic to go take a look. There is no insurance or plates so the owner can't drive it to a local independent BMW shop.

It is going to be difficult to evaluate a car without taking it onto the road and without putting it on a lift to look underneath. (and it seems odd that the current owner put 3000 miles on it, but it doesn't have plates and/or insurance). You could call Mario Langston at VSR in NH and see if he's be willing to do it, but he's busy enough he may not want to take the better part of a day to do it.

The owner told he that he has a 2 post lift coming soon. I will reach out to Mario to see if he can help. Thanks for the lead

@D Calkins - Chris has some VERY valid points in his recommendations. somebody that knows what they are looking for needs to get underneath the car and needs to drive it to give you a real evaluation.

agreed, rust is a huge concern of mine with these cars. I found the rust map and I have committed it to memory

I spoke with Molly at VSR and she is going to ask Chris the owner about a PPI house call.

Looks like a good possibility. Automatics rarely see the track and preserve the entire drive line.
