For sale: 3 Weber 40 DCOE side draft carburetors with Alpina intake plenum. Set comes with Weber intake manifold, BMW air filter, gaskets and linkage (see attached photos). $3000.00.

Hi @David Reilly,

Fair price! Can you confirm if the Alpina plenum is original or a reproduction? It looks like a reproduction but confirm otherwise.

No worries. Either way the price is right.

It is worth noting however that the reproductions are made in England by @daddywad. The originals have visible casting imperfections that the reproductions cleaned up. I can’t spot all reproductions, but I can definitely spot something based on an original casting.

so what did you progress to after this? i'm sure Mario's guys would have had a coupe singing all of the notes with this setup.
 
on identifying the original by flaws, I have the repo, it is very nice, but it had a few flaws in it, so I fixed them and repainted, same could happen with an original, or maybe they are more large scale than I am imagining?
