I've settled on these on my Maxilite Alpinas, 6 inch up front and 7 in the rear. Will this work?
so what would you consider buying that is available in the market? i know this varies depending on 14", 15" and 16". since i have 15" wheels, my choices of vintage tires are based on 215/60-15 ... and the choices aren't that wide. cn-36, p7 and a few others. After 10K miles not that happy with the CN36.
I think that's what's on it now.XWX for 14” wheels
I definitely do not want to do any fender rolling so I guess those are out. The white 2000CA that sold on BAT last June had my wheels and Goodyear Eagle RS-A at 195 60 15. They must fit, plus they're affordable and readily available. Talk me out of them.I looked installing CN36s on my 15" Wed Bavarias. I was looking at the 215 60R 15, and my conclusion was that they would fit and work well. Ultimately after driving a couple of other coupes with Continentals on them, I changed to Coupe King wheels and Continental Contisport 2s.
The 175 70R 15 will require about 15mm of additional outward clearance as compared to the original 195 70R 14s that came on our cars, so rolling your fenders would be recommended if you go with that size.
Is there a date code on them? I would imagine some of these older style tires may be NOS.. and as such may have aged a bitAfter finishing my recent 1,000 mile drive I noticed that both front tires have a crack around the entire perimeter between the shoulder and the sidewall after 15,000 miles, not good and won’t buy again.
This is not limited to the Pirelli CN36. I discovered this limitation after putting new 255/40R21 tires on my Audi. Cost was about $500 each (!!). Drove to southern Yosemite for a few days with my wife and it snowed. I started wondering about these brand new summer tires, and found that they had the same 47 degree lower bound. Here I was, planning to drive home on snowy roads after sitting for three days in the snow, and discovering that my expensive new tires might disintegrate on the way...Thanks Chris, I have looked at those as well. I could not get them easily and didn't want to wait, so went with what I had purchased last time. Here is a paragraph from the Pirelli Limited Wattanty. A 17 page document you can find easily on line. Makes reference to the temperature limitations.

I'm not familiar with those tires, and I can't think of any coupe onwers who run them. Then again, there are not very many who run 15" wheels.I definitely do not want to do any fender rolling so I guess those are out. The white 2000CA that sold on BAT last June had my wheels and Goodyear Eagle RS-A at 195 60 15. They must fit, plus they're affordable and readily available. Talk me out of them.
