I was taking my 2002 tii in for service at Ott and Berger BMW in Williamstown, MA in 1972. There were a bunch of people standing outside the dealership, so I went outside to see what was going on. What I saw was one of the salesmen behind the wheel of a brand new dark blue metallic 3.0 CS. He...
If you're a purist, stop reading this post now. But if you want a modern radio with things like Bluetooth and USB, then take a look at RetroSound 's Model 2:

I retrofit one in my 72 CS. It fit perfectly and looks almost stock. They...
"griots garage sells a nice battery quick disconnect"
I have that same one. If you have a battery that is a bit high (an Optima for example) , you might have to fool with the positioning of the switch or it will hit the hood hinge.
I got mine from Summit Racing. They have a bunch of...
After I saw the first few posts in this thread, I started looking around for possible options on eBay and I saw one of those from an E24. It may not be the color that I am looking for, but I'll let everyone know if it fits. From the description, it's really more of a back seat console that is...
I'd look at some of the mid-early Corvette (1960s to 1970s) options such as these:

You might even be able to roughly match the interior color if you are lucky. The 1968 Corvette has a...
Try squirting a little starter fluid into the air filter housing, crank her up and see if the engine catches and runs a bit. If it does, I would check your electric fuel pump.
Hagerty has a recent article that's relevant to the disparity:

I could be wrong, but the stock 3.5L M30 engines were rated at 218 bhp, so the MM versions are at least that. If I put it on a...
I just put a Metric Mechanic 3700 Sport engine (M30 rated at 270 HP) in my 1972 3.0CS with dual Webers. Here's my jetting (old settings for the original 3.0L engine are in parentheses):
PRIMARY
idle 75 (60)
main 160 (140)
air correction 180 (170) - although I did try 200
SECONDARY...
I want to update my answer (and promise not to laugh). Being in upstate NY doesn't leave one with too many options to the coupe for the either winter or rainy days. I still use my 2005 330xi daily, but we also just bought a 2013 X1. Our X1 has the twin turbo 2.0L engine with an 8 speed...
Thanks, but unfortunately (or fortunately) The circular part is still resting on the pedal, but it is now a semi circle. The bottom piece broke off at some point and I was never able to find it.
But you did give me some good ideas on how to make a temporary repair in the mean time. What was the...
I checked to see if you had previously sold these parts and I didn't see them. If you still have them, I might be interested in a working electric fuel pump, the fuel pressure regulator and fuel lines, if in good shape.
For my 1972 3.0 CS. The black plastic loop cracked off and the pedal just rests on the spindle. The pedal still works, so there's no emergency, but I would like a pedal in perfect shape, if possible. Either a used pedal or a link to someone online selling an equivalent replacement will do.
I would be surprised if there many USA coupes with original paint, since a lot of those cars had metallic finishes. At one point (1974), I had a 1972 2002 (Malaga), a 1972 2002 tii (Polaris Silver) and a 1972 3.0CS (Fjord Blue). Both the tii's and the CS's paint crazed, as was typical for BMW...
