    What would you consider.....

Actually, I don't think you're hijacking at all. A question like that fits with the purpose of this thread. (to get a unscientific survey of what coupe owner's like to drive - or would like to drive among today's high end contemporary cars)

1973 Bmw 3.0 CS Verona Red restore/great parts car

I guess that's what I meant to say, but was trying to be diplomatic because its not like the seller was claiming the car was "almost rust free" as so many do. Seems like he was trying to be straight up in the description on eBay. Don't know if I agree that the car is a feasible restoration...

    What would you consider.....

A de-badged V8 S4 Avant would be the ultimate "sleeper" indeed. Stick a car seat or two in the back of that rig and dust by your local sideways-baseball-hat-wearing, fart-can pilot as he struggles to rationalize the cost of all those ridiculous mods he's got into his Impreza.

    What would you consider.....

Ran, my neighbor around the corner has a very original LR SIIA (SWB) in that very same chalky-faded moss green. I covet it every summer when it's out of storage and taunting me in the driveway. (It's not FS, believe me, I've asked) Scores off-the-chart in the exculsivity category (you'll be hard...

1973 Bmw 3.0 CS Verona Red restore/great parts car

I think I saw this on eBay a day or two ago. just a little rust, just a little.

    What would you consider.....

Duane, I have yet to drive either, but that is sort of what I'm thinking as well. I had the first version of the 4.2 A6 in 2000 and aside from a little bit sloshy feeling (they stiffened subsequent versions), the car was an absolute rocketship (and a complete "sleeper" too!). Audi has the best...

    What would you consider.....

thanks for the input so far. However, maybe I should have been a bit more clear. What would YOU select? I'm curious. I've got my opinions. I agree w/ Chic regarding M5/6 in terms of pure specifications, but it's not simply about that. BTW, I just threw those HP specs out there as a...

    BMW commerical during the Olympics

Agreed! Also, it could be argued that new BMWs look like Toyotas/Nissans.....or maybe Toyotas and Nissans are made to emulate BMWs. Either way, there's nothing special about BMWs produced today. Mercedes is no better, their new lines are hideous also. I remember when I was in high school in...

    What would you consider.....

What would you consider to be practical daily driver that offers the following: -Performance, It has to get up and GO, handle well w/4 adults, feel stable/solid and provide ample safety. Say, at least 375HP for a 4-passenger car, minimum of 400HP for a SUV. -Style, car should make you...

    Dash speaker mesh

I had to fabricate a new grill when re-veneered the wood and found some similar mesh material at a fabris store. Spraypainted it light brown, then lacquer-coated. It's okay, but the density of the fabric is not correct. I'd be curious to see others' solutions.....

    Rusty e9 in Denver CL

"Only 1,368 E9 cars from 1971 - 1974 were sent to the US. -In 1974 only 393 E9 models were sent to the US and this car is #45." Seller is slightly misinformed about production numbers.

    Another new guy!

well done! Love the inboard driving lights. Where did you find her? Was this car known to anyone on this board? Regardless, super tasteful and gorgeous!

    3.0 CSL is undervalued... 74 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0 (RHD) for $600 000!

I can't remember hearing a lot of chatter from CaddilacGreen on other "valuation" threads, but I wish you chimed in more often, Caddy. Agreed 100%!!! Amen, preach-it brotha...and so-forth. Every one of those statements are correct. Don't blast me for being anecdotal and not citing facts, but...

    Winter Makeover

Tim, I had mud flaps on my 91 E34 and while I wasn't crazy about the look, they served a purpose up here in New England. I think the mud flaps break up the natural lines of the E9 and since it's probably unlikely that the flaps will serve any real useful purpose, I'd have to say.....lose em...

    3.0 CSL is undervalued... 74 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0 (RHD) for $600 000!

I think Kevin Jennett is/was a member of this forum. That is a sweeeet car and they do some nice work down there in FL. Though completely unrelated to coupes, I still salivate over early RSs. Any color combination. Did it sell close to the $325k asking price? No matter, fantastic example...

    3.0 CSL is undervalued... 74 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0 (RHD) for $600 000!

Investments? I can't go a week without having to hear some tool's wisdom on the economy or stock market while in the locker room or similar place where men gather to assert their superior knowlege among eachother. This thread reminds me of just that and while I generally try to hold my opinions...

    3.0 CSL is undervalued... 74 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 3.0 (RHD) for $600 000!

both 959s have been FS for quite some time via Bruce Canepa, the "Carl Nelson" of 959s. As far as commenting between values of CSLs and RSRs, the conversation is a "non-starter" for me as these cars are in no way comparable. Why not draw a comparison between a Lusso and an early Quattroporte...
