What I have found many times is if you really want to buy a car on EBAY, the best thing to do is CALL the owner and negotiate a price....then he doesn't have to pay the EBAY fees for selling it there.....especially when it is relisted.....worth a try. And if you are really serious.....GO SEE...

turnaround time is the key....I have had both places take a lot of time every once in a while to return a part.....make sure they give you an exact time frame....since they are both fairly expensive.

it also depends on how hard you drive the car.....it does supply some stability, but for those of you who understand physics.....if you displace force in one area of the car, it goes to another part of the car.....so again it depends on how you drive the car....if on a track, for sure...

Parts are from BMW, read: expensive or from good used parts or correct repros, it seems as if this may be your first jump into the restoration abyss? You should pass on this car, my guess is that with English restoration prices you will spend several years and double the asking price to end...

Check the sending unit seal and the rubber filler boot, also change your gas cap seal, otherwise Robert Eckhart has used tanks in good condition.

The BMW archive in Munich will for a fee give you a birth certificate of your car, you have to be the owner to get the information.

Your budget number is not realistic for a presentable car that has "minimal or no rust"......expect to pay double your budget if you don't want to restore a car....if you pay 15K, you will pay much more and not have a car to drive for some time while you sort it out....agreed, the car mentioned...

if you are referring to how many pieces that BMW has in their system...any dealer can see exactly how many parts are left, whether it is a constant production part, or if they have a run that will sell out and then become NLA.
