Hello, does anyone know the best way to find out the history of a E9 couple if I have the VIN? I tried e9-driven.com but could not find the car on registered there. Any ideas?
The BMW archive in Munich will for a fee give you a birth certificate of your car, you have to be the owner to get the information.
Chris says: Rob is lucky in that euro cars have more info that BMW can provide.

"The other service we have is you post detailed pictures and we make up the car history.
Way more a accurate than Tarot."
LOL! My 2800cs has a 'void' from its delivery in Jan '70 (polaris) to the Denzel dealership in Austria to arriving as a re-badged and repainted 3.0cs in Ceylon.
So, here is my theory:
Originally sold to SPECTRE (Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion) by the Denzel Grppe. Car was used heavily on numerous missions by a top SPECTRE agent with many encouters w/ MI6 (whose company car at the time was a Aston Martin DBS). It has the battle scars.
The polaris 2800cs was deemeded to recognizable to MI6 by SPECTRE, it was put on a submarine where it landed in Southern CA at some point as a Ceylon 3.0cs.
I am still trying to identify the SPECTRE agent had the car originally.
;-)
nice one!
A pimp!? hhmmm....makes sense, requires further investigation into the car's travels through the underworld.
Entering CA via South America makes sense, explains the wholesale diamond trader/pawn shop's card from Whittier, CA I found under carpet in the trunk during its 'refurbishment'.
