What do you drive when not driving the E9???

My dd for the past 6+ years is a '97 840. Have an itch to try something different. Drove an '03 DB7 6-spd yesterday. Beautiful car, but alas it's not suitable for a dd.

Classic Auto Insurance - New offering

Buyer beware! You want your policy to show "Agreed" value, not "Stated" value. There is a big difference. Stated value gives the insurance company wiggle room.

    Startup procedure

the morning after Thanks to M Thompson; followed your advice, which was close to what I had been doing. In fact, drove the car yesterday (after sitting 3-4 weeks) and once warmed up, ran like a watch on the highway. But, my big problem is the morning after. Takes a heck of lot to start it up...

    Startup procedure

I have a '73 CS. What is the proper startup procedure after car has been sitting for a week or two? Should the gas pedal be pressed down; turn key & then press gas pedal again a little bit while engaging? Or should key be turned to allow gas to get to the Weber carbs; press gas pedal & then...

Anyone familiar with the Little Garage in Huntington, NY?

Your potential purchase How about a pic without letting the masses know its whereabouts. Maybe you could crop the pictures to remain anonymous. Just curious. Note, I already own an e9 & am not looking for a trade-in or a second one.

    nachtblau coupe - top dollar

Nachtblau buyer The Craigslist (Bergen County) car has been languishing for sale for maybe 2 years. When I was on the hunt, I contacted the seller back then & came away that this one didn't have my name on it.

Be Honest and don't put on a show!!!! What is your car worth???????

I paid $19k last summer for a '73CS with 135k miles. It came with Alpina wheels plus the originals, all with new tires, plus it had a Nardi steering wheel. I have it insured (agreed value) @ $20k to cover the sales tax plus a few odds & ends that I had repaired. I don't think I would get any...

    BMW 3.0 CS - Exceptional condition - $22750

Don't complain It's the seller's prerogative to re-offer at a higher price. I don't hear people complain when a seller lowers their asking price, except possibly from a fellow e9 owner hoping values were higher. As for that missed opportunity for M6 1988, he didn't mention if he made an offer...

Meet Heidi (My New to You '72)

Heidi Back in October I posed the question to the forum as to why this car had remained unsold for over a year, even with subsequent price drops. (If you put "Seattle" in the search tab, three members responded.) During that span of time I had been looking around to buy an e9. This Seattle car...

    SCM on e9 2010 values

SCM values I am a subscriber to SCM & of course saw the $15k. I thought it was off for a top example of these cars. I am in a specialty part of the agricultural commodity business & there are market reports people consult for pricing. I remember many years ago my father was trying to buy a...

    1973 CSL Well Bought

Price paid Ok, I meant "buyer's" commission. But in the end, when you break it down, it sold for the lower figure, (which is what the p.o. got) but the new buyer handed over a check to the auction house for $38,864, right?

    1973 CSL Well Bought

The SCM figure of $38,864 included a 15% sales commission. So, the seller got around $33k.

Went for a cold weather drive

It got up to 48 degrees in the Phila. area on 12/27. Most of the 18" or so of snow we got a week prior had melted; roads were pretty dry. So I was able to take the coupe out for its monthly constitutional. P.S. Mine has Webbers. What is the sequence for starting? Depress gas pedal first...
