Marketplace golf CSI in mid west

Just because it's close by and I'm curious, I'm going to run over and see the car at Josh's shop on Monday. I'll report back and post some photos. If anyone has specific requests for me to look at, let me know. He also still has "listed" on FB Marketplace a 1971 Polaris CSi...

I see what you did there.

Golf Yellow CSi on BAT - NMNA

Josh, to second Luis's suggestion, definitely join the Fuelfed group locally and bring the E9 out to an event when we start back up in the spring. I organize the Coffee & Classics in Hinsdale three times a year, and live close to you. So if you ever want to get together IRL, PM me here. I can...

    Market for Coupes

Hey, we'll miss seeing you in Winnetka...the Colorado location looks delightful, though. Not to encourage your selling, but I assume you saw the post from our new friend in LA, who might be shopping?: https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/new-member-los-angeles.44593/#post-392547

Golf Yellow CSi on BAT - NMNA

You looking at pic number 4, below? I think that's either the camera position or an effect of parking on an incline on the Burr Ridge Village Center parking ramp. (Recognized from my son's frequent use of the top level as a nighttime make-out spot.) If you look at #141 and #142, the wheel well...

Yep, I just figured that out after he posted some more on the auction.

Golf Yellow CSi on BAT - NMNA

Interesting. This is one suburb away here in Chicagoland, and I've never seen it. There was one for sale up at the Werkshop in the north suburbs are few years back. I wonder if this is the same one. If anyone wants me to take a non-intrusive look at it, let me know.

The "i" doesn't look too official, either.

What an E9 can get you...

Thanks. It looks good from this distance in a dim garage. It's juuuust scruffy enough, with 149k miles, to look at some serious changes. Unlike the coupe, I will NOT be changing the color. Learned my lesson there.

What an E9 can get you...

Hi, all. Since selling my E9 on BaT in August, I had an opportunity to, uh, reinvest. Here's what's next: 1990 964 C2. Best of all, it's galvanized! I'll miss the old girl, but this one has some trophy potential.

Black on black CSi on BaT

One person's "nonfunctional" is another person's "nonpresent."

Black on black CSi on BaT

Sinister. Almost look like B&W photos. Are the lenses tinted, or the hue is just dialed down on the photos? And a CS with CSi badging? I look forward to the BaT commentary on that discrepancy.

    1974 3.0CSL on BaT

As noble and helpful as this idea sounds, BaT will go to any length to not offer an opinion on a vehicle that they could be held accountable for, including hiring/sponsoring/promoting individual experts.

    1974 3.0CSL on BaT

This auction is a very strange approach to buyer engagement..."To me all cars are perfect… because they give me joy when I drive them."

    1972 CSi on BaT

Man, I had a visceral reaction to seeing the lift points they chose. Glad someone commented on it. And Don covered the two-tone silver/brown colors. That undercoating looks like it could ignite from the exhaust at any moment.
