    E3 SI on Ebay

Why would anyone put a luggage rack on a Bavaria? Their trunks are HUGE. How many bodies did they need to carry?

Becker Europa II Install on 3.0cs

The Becker Europa radio on ebay that Boonies shows in post #4 is referred to as a "Europa II" in the auction title, but the radio in the picture is simply labeled "Europa". I'm not authority on vintage Becker radios, but I'm skeptical that it's a "II". Its face size is small, so it would fit...

Vintage Wilton vise and Atlas drill press resto

You guys are making me feel guilty about selling a couple of my father's old tools on Craigslist earlier this year. I had his old Chas Parker vise and a 1960's era Craftsman drillpress. I have duplicates of both, wanted to reduce the clutter in my garage, so out they went. I was surprised at...

Finishing School for a Fjord 3.0 CS / 100 projects to improve a Coupe / Countdown

I certainly hope you intend to re-paint one of the subframe mounts grey to put things right. Incorrectly colored subframe mounts just drive me up the wall! :D

Good motorsports/car museums near San Jose?

If you have not yet seen the Mullin, then I would highly recommend it. With Peter Mullin's recent death, the long-term prospects for this gem of a museum are uncertain (at least to the general public). The museum also includes furniture and other works of art done by Bugatti family members.

    E28 window motor observation.

OK, thanks! I have replaced my front pancake motors with e28 motor/gearboxs and can report that they work great.

    E28 window motor observation.

And how different are the front gearboxes? Do they still have the 10-tooth pinions? Is it just the mounting bolt pattern that differs? In other words, when the world's supply of e28 rear gearboxes runs out, can the fronts be adapted?

    E28 window motor observation.

So I think you are saying that the front and rear E28 motors are the same, but the F & R gearboxes are different. Did I get that right? And, it's the rear gearboxes that are compatible with E9 window mechanisms.

    BMW classic parts

See Paul Cain's excellent write-up on these repro. stainless bumpers at: https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/product-review-stainless-steel-aftermarket-e9-bumpers.44108/ Paul identifies the manufacturer as BumperAutomobile in Vietnam. However, there also seems to be a Vietnamese company called...

Excellent Tesla Cybertruck review - Jason Cammisa

Yea, but your carbon footprint isn't issue. What matters is the world-wide carbon footprint. The Saudi's, Russians, Chevron, etc. are not going to pump less oil after 2030 (or whenever), when people in my home state will only be able to buy electric vehicles. The price of crude oil may go...

    Coupe Mugging

Well that restores my faith in the human race! So you're saying that the badge (and part of the grille) took a hit, but came out forward, fell down below the bumper and rode home without bouncing out? Wow, in some ways you were lucky. But what do you think impacted the badge/grille? A rock...

    Market for Coupes

When the dollar loses purchasing power, essential items do go up in price. And things like groceries certainly have gone up. But that increased spending displaces the purchase of non-essential items. You and your loved ones may disagree on what is essential and what is non-essential, but...

    Distributor failure?

No a Pertronix wouldn't fix raulvargasdelos' problem. The Pertronix - like the points - is attached to that swivel plate so if the plate is flopping around, he'd still have a problem with incorrect advance. A 123 distributor would fix things, but that's a lot more money.

    1973 3.0CS on BaT today

What you're missing is that BaT buyers aren't always rational. The 3.0 that sold today is certainly going to cost its buyer WAY more than $39K by the time he's done.

Are Webers an upgrade? Haw, that's a loaded question. Simple answer: depends on who you ask! We're talking the downdraft DGV series Webers that bolt to the original BMW manifold; not the sidedraft DCOE's. Your perception that they are less finicky than the Zeniths is a good summary. Zenith...

    1970 2800CS on BaT

Well, that's the auction game. While some cars just get ignored, others get competitive bidders and their prices go stratospheric. There is a large luck element in any auction. Maybe green wasn't this week's favorite color. Maybe needs like "The seller reports that the car pulls to the right...

Fairfield huh? I grew up in Monroe, and while I left New England 48 years ago, I still get back to Connecticut to visit relatives. Was in Fairfield a couple of weeks ago while we were back to see the fall colors. Lots of vintage car activity in your area. So how severe is the rust on your...
