WTB: 3.0CSi sun visor clips (not hinges)

I used these, which are indistinguishable from the original on a CSL. I've not seen a white equivalent for a CSi howerver https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/uk/9117313310070B-sun-visor-support-clip-black.html

Best rust treatment for crusty wheel arches

just invested in a Bilt Hamber kit. They had a deal on for the de-rust gel, the zinc primer, plus de-greaser. Plus I got some new grinder wheels, etc. Nice to be able to take my time with this, car's not going anywhere any time soon

what mechanical works are you doing now that you are locked in your house

Great thread! And some excellent work CSL now operates on a single key, have rejigged the lock tumblers. I forget how long that has been on the to-list. Also fettled the passengers door handle mech so it no longer touches the window glass. Restored the B12's memory mirror function, a minor...

Best rust treatment for crusty wheel arches

As well as my garaged E9, I also own an E38 Alpina B12. This is not a garage queen but a highway bruiser capable of remarkably effortless long distance mileage. It lives outdoors and is driven in all conditions, but is still a labour of love, just in a different way to my E9. It came to me a bit...

    Distributor rebuild options

Yes, sorry, I should have been clearer. At idle the timing mark was jumping about a bit. Above idle the timing mark was was steady. Was thinking the lash in the dizzy drive gearing might be the cause

    Distributor rebuild options

Took the CSL out for a hoon yesterday. Well I'd backed it out of the garage to spring clean, so I couldn't really put it away without running the engine warm, could I? Not sure everyone would consider that "necessary".... o_O With the leaky vac retard unit disconnected (and the line plugged) it...

    Distributor rebuild options

Yes, curve 7 is for the CSi CSL engine, with the 001 distributor. Interesting that this also refers to 10 dogs vac advance at 300 mmHg Edit: or maybe curve F has the retard feature

    Distributor rebuild options

http://123ignition.nl/product.phtml?id=119 This one supports the d jet injector timing. I assume the d jet connection is integral in some way. I don't know if it's also possible to get a Bluetooth rebuild on my 001 dizzy as per Willem's post above, or if the d jet uniqueness would rule that out

    Distributor rebuild options

Hi Don, yes it is a city pack CSL, and I think I know what you're about to say... it has no vac advance! I was looking in detail at the dizzy this morning, and I noted the vac unit arm pulls the breaker plate clockwise, in the same direction as the rotor's rotation, so it acts only to retard the...

    Distributor rebuild options

Part number I had above for the vac said nit is wrong. Think the correct one is 12111355627 And it should have "435" on the actuator arm https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=3442-EUR-02-1972-E9-BMW-30CSi&diagId=12_0943 I get mixed up in realoem, which parts are csi, csl or csil

Thanks, my issue is I'm a car hypochondriac! ;) Perhaps I should worry less I think I have a NOS cam dizzy drive in my parts stash, I might look to fit that along with any new/refurbed dizzy I fitted the chrome tailpipe trim you sent to me. Looks great, after its trip to Hawaii and back!

    Distributor rebuild options

Hi, thanks for your suggestions. Should have shared more info earlier, my distributor is original but modified. Points look to have been replaced by a hall sender type pick up, I think. Bosch part no. is 0231306001 I'll research the 123, my bias is to keep stock and rebuild. Will compare costs...

    Distributor rebuild options

Looking on the forums Jeff at Advanced Distributors looks a good option for those based in the US. For the rest of us, in the UK, or Europe even, and is there a specialist in 70s Bosch distributors? I noted yesterday that my vac advance is fubar, and the shaft has a lot of axial play. The...

Hi, is this still available? If so, what engine and year is it for (or a part number I guess) and what condition is it in? Thanks

Door furniture, what am I missing?

Yes, i saw that bit with W&N, in plastic chrome. Realoem has this listed for a rhd CSL, but not parts 3 or 9, which I think would match. But anyway, looks like they're not for me Have dropped Stan a pm, to see if he has a spare pair of ears!

Thanks Keshav, again! Clear from your photo, that's the bit I need. Not chrome

Door furniture, what am I missing?

On a city pack CSL, what trim should my door pull/ arm rest have? On my early E24 I recall there were chrome (plastic) parts where the door pull fixed to the door I've looked on realoem and there is a part at the top most attachment, sitting between the armrest cap and the door card (missing on...
