“Sorting” the Rebuild - ‘69 2800 CS #2200561

1. Where does item #1, "Tension parts", go?
2. Same with #14, and what is this "Plate" for? My car did not have one so if anyone has a spare, I'm interested!

Also, in the next diagram, I am missing #1(qty2) and #9-12. I can source #1 from Walloth & Nesch unless there is a US source. I'll plan to cut my own foam gaskets, #9-11.
3. #12, "Cover plate": Any spares out there? Could someone confirm if:
a. Is it steel?
b. Is it slightly bigger than the corresponding shaped cutout in the firewall?
c. If so, does it go on the front or back side of the firewall?

I recognize #14 as a sort of "grill" at the heat-into-the-footwell portal. Can't see it as it points towards the floor.

As I recall, the plate 12 is steel, it has a small lip that faces toward the firewall and the gasket 11 fits into the lip. The gasket is on the engine side of the firewall and gasket 11 fits in the slotted hole of the firewall.

i believe that #14 is the flap that determines heat or defrost. its inside the housing that goes to the defroster vent

14 is just a grille that mounts in the footwell opening, it isn’t needed.
