E30 M3 has a pretty high offset. I would guess the wheels have a minimum of ET30 offset. Better yet why don't you look at the wheel and tell us? It is stamped right on the wheel.

On an 8" wide rim, the lowest offset you will get away with is 20. With that size, you have about 5mm clearance from the front strut. I think the E30 will be about 28, which brings it closer to the strut and I expect it would interfere.

Better to have a high offset, like ET30. If it hits the strut, you can always run spacers.

Most of the high offset wheels look "meh" to me, especially the lipless Alpinas. You'd need to run about a .5" spacer to get an ET30 off of your front shocks.

Any idea on et24? Just 25mm closer to the strut according to online calculator..

An 8" ET20 can clear on some e9's. Others recommend a 3mm spacer (tire dependent). For instance - according to this forum: Vince is running 17x8 ET20 up front with no spacer. CCMGuy is also running 17x8 ET20 with a 3mm spacer. So worst case scenario - you'd need up to a 3mm spacer for ET20 then another 4mm for ET24. So that is a 7mm spacer to clear the fronts, about ~.25". To be honest, I'm not sure how that would affect the fender side. You may want to PM the folks mentioned above and ask them if heir wheels would fit if they were 4mm closer to the fender.

The rears should be fine. The rather common staggered 16" Alpina's are ET24 in the rear. I also measured the rear fender to shock and it is about 11".

You will need a 10mm spacer. I am about to build a custon 3-piece BBS and bought Style 5 RC 90's for the face and these are 17x8 with ET20. With no rubber there is a 5mm clearance from the front strut running standard camber. Fitting a wider 235 tire will strike the strut as I test fitted wheels from my E24 of the size 235/45/17 on an ET20 rim.

Et24 is perfect for the rear. The front you want the offset to be less than ET20. A 5mm spacer should work in the front but I would not put tires wider than 215 to avoid catching the lip of the fender on full turns unless you plan on rolling the fender lips.

Rears on 10mm spacer coming tomorrow for the fronts
