Hello can anyone tell what type of screw is used on the front belt trim on the ends, the area is countersunk and the fender trim covers the screw. I did not remove the trim I have no idea if it was a self tapping screw or a machine screw with a nut. Thanks

Hi;I believe that there is a connecter piece that holds the front and side molding against the body panels and that piece is held to the car by a bolt and than a trim piece covers where they connect. Before I gave the car to my son I used flat head plastic bolts and nuts so not to rust. I used a grinding wheel to square of two two sides of the head to make them slide into the rear of all the belt line trim.
Just a little info.

Thanks for the reply , so you were able to get a small plastic bolt and nut to hold down the edge of the front belt trim to allow the side trim to be installed. Very small hole do you remember where you got the screw from .thanks again

It must mount the same as 2002, it's a rectangular plate with a small stud, both trim pieces slip over this plate. The nearby trim pieces may need to be loosened, it's available from BMW BTW.

Thanks for the reply Chris but it seems like a completely different mounting system . The 2000cs is it own animal . Thanks again
