Hi I am listing this for a friend who is not online as much as I am so I will field questions and pass them along. For sale is a running and driving '67 2000CS. The car has a clear title. Solid overall project. It has an older "attempted" restoration. What that means is that there have been some skilled & some unskilled hands on the car. It was repainted at some point, albeit rather roughly but enough to cover the car and protect it from corrosion. The body has Bondo on it which suggests someone unskilled took a shot at smoothing it out.
Most of the car is rust free. The only real problem is the driver side rocker which looks as if the car was run over a curb or something tall and dented the panel and opened a hole in the front just behind the fender. The interior is incomplete, however, the car comes with all the parts needed to complete.
The exterior trim is not currently installed on the car but again, all the pieces come with the car. The engine currently in the car is a Tii engine, circa 1972, early production/plastic intake runners. The engine starts and runs well. The car drives nicely but has been off the road for an unknown number of years.
The rear brakes have been upgraded to 320i brakes and have new flex lines and wheel cylinders. The front calipers and master cylinder were recently removed and serviced so
that the car can be driven. The car stops well and there is no brake fade or pulling to either side.
All of the lights work and the turn signals flash correctly. The dash gauges work and the window motors are all working, however I have not tried to move them as the glass needs to be removed and cleaned of all the grease/peanut butter that is on/in the tracks.
There is some old fuel that makes the car stinky while running, but the fuel pump works and runs well. The exhaust system is cobbled together and will need to be repaired. Most of it is in good condition though.
The carpet kit is in included as will all the other bits stored in the trunk when someone buys it and picks it up.
The 14 inch Neue Klasse wheels shown in the photos DO NOT come with the car. The car will be sold with E30 wheels.
