1967 BMW 2000 Neue Klasse 4-Speed - BaT and club member's car....

Thanks guys. It’s a very cool car indeed. I almost bought this car 5 years ago when in lived in NJ but transport out of BC Canada was a bit much. The former owner listed it on BaT in 2020 it met reserve but deal didn’t get done. The previous owner kept a great blog on most of the heavy lifting he did during his time.
It came up for sale in 2023. Portland is a lot closer to Victoria BC so I jumped. Easy getting it through customs and drove it 240 miles home.
The older paint job is a 6 out of 10 but it’s rust free and runs really well. I’ve done mostly cosmetic work inside and out the car really looks good.
Strange thing was the trans would grind a bit when shifting into first. It shifted fine in all other gears. Trans was rebuilt 10 years ago by Metric Mechanic. So the only thing I could find that had no record of replacement was the clutch master. I decided to rebuild it. That solved the problem. Same clutch master as e9/e3 just a shorter connecting rod.
We’ll see what the current market says, but I’ll keep it a bit longer if I have to.
I‘d like to get an e28/e34 535i. But I’d need to make room first.

I would love to buy this but I need to make room as well.
Possibly my beloved 1997 Dinan M3 I've owned for 22 years, it's a lot to think about.
I prefer the E28s, I looked for 5-speed 535is for a while on Hemmings, eBay & mye28.com
They had 200K+ miles & looked it. May be easier to buy an M5 than a 535is, 533i, 528e.
M5s are the best BMW ever made, they do everything well with very little compromise.

Andrew,
The truth is a week doesn't go by where I don’t see I car I’d like to buy. E28 535is would be my first choice and more in my price range than an M5.
That Dinan M3 is pretty awesome, gonna be tough to see it go. I’m already feeling a bit torn over selling the NK.

Andrew,
If you do add it to your collection it already has a name: “Victor”. Explained here:
Also in the article I wrote for the BMWCCCA “Ultimate Classic”
