Hello Folks,

Reluctantly putting my 1970 Baikal Blue BMW 2800CS up for sale. I've only owned it a few months and it is one of my all time favorite automobiles but came to realize that I just have way too many other projects on my plate right now (Porsches, Alfas, 2002s, etc) and this one needs to at least partially help fund my home renovation. Here is a little about the car: 1970 BMW 2800CS original Baikal Blue, A/C, power windows, non sunroof, tan interior. Details as follows:

Body:
I purchased the car from a close friend a few months ago exactly the way it sits body-wise. My friend had purchased it from "a little old lady" and it had been sitting in her garage for many years. When my friend first picked it up he just about immediately sent it out for a mild body restoration where the body shop cut and filled in any minor rust areas and resprayed the entire car in the original Baikal Blue. Truth be told, the re-spray leaves a little be desired, has a couple imperfections and areas where the paint is not quite perfect (I am quite OCD), this all said the respray looks great to most people who look at the car and makes for a fabulous driver quality CS.

Suspension:
I personally rebuilt the entire front end myself. I dropped the entire front end (subframe and all) and had every single item powder coated in a beautiful gloss black. Every single bushing and wear item was replaced at the time. A full set of Bilstein HD dampers was installed along with La Jolla lowering springs/front and rear sway bars/camber plates were all put in at the same time for much improved handling.

Wheels/Tires/Brakes:
A set of 16x8 and 16x7 Coupe King alloy Alpina replica wheels were installed with Falken tires. Wheels were ceramic coated in a gun metal grey for special look.
Brand new front brake calipers were installed along with new rear brake cylinders, front wheel bearings and stainless steel brake lines. Brakes were bled with ATE Typ 200 fluid.

Exhaust:
Beautiful Coupe King Full mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust system was installed front to back including a set of ceramic coated B35 exhaust manifolds. Lovely sound.

Interior:
Interior remains untouched so seats are as expected from a 46 year old car, yet not overly ripped or torn, just a bit dry and cracked. That said, the dash and interior trim is nearly perfect. No cracks on dash, no silly aftermarket stereo cutouts on dash or doors EVER. A seat restoration would do wonders for the interior of this car.

Engine:
Original engine and though leak-free, it is probably time for a rebuild to get the most out of the car. This is the weakest point of the car right now, I was going to install a B35 but just ran out of juice for this project. I would (and do) drive the car anywhere, in fact I just did a 1,000 mile weekend trip from Los Angles to NorCal and back totally problem free but at some points along the trip it was apparent that she's down on power.
Recently spark plugs, wire set, cap and rotor were replaced.

Transmission:
Factory 4 speed manual transmission shifts and has no grinds or issues. Rebuilt driveshaft, new guibo and center support bearing.

Asking [Price drop to $29,500OBO], I think price is fair for the amount of work recently done but I am a reasonable guy and will let the market and amount of interest dictate selling price. Car is located near downtown Los Angeles and is available most days for inspection/drive. Email me for quickest response [email protected] I may update ad as I remember things. Clean CA title and current registration in hand.
