Assuming it ever was available. Just seems too nice / too cheap. And the Craigslist description is awfully brief ("1971 bmw 2800 cs claasic one of a kind need some care , 5 speed clean tittle"), though perhaps typical for CL.
Well, at least it has a "clean tittle". I hate cars with dirty tittles!
I asked seller some basic questions a few minutes after this hit our site. Quick reply was he’d answer questions first thing Saturday morning. Have not heard from him since.
I love craigslist photos. First, get a camera in a Cracker Jack box, take photos, make their resolution lower, run craigslist ad.
The delayed response was from the seller was due to him waiting for walgreens to process the disposable camera that he received as a wedding favor in 1996.
I hope the seller isn't on the forum. :eek:

Anyone go look to see if it is real? Even assuming head is cracked and rockers, floor pans, & typical places are rusted, still looks like a good deal. I guess it wouldn't be if "frame" racked and it has significant poorly-repaired damage--forgot what they call it when they stick two cars together and use a clean VIN.
I think that's typical of 5-speed conversions if you don't modify the shift linkage correctly.
