Very true on the traditional auction block where the primary source of the truth is hagerty. BaT is a bit more forgiving but the struggle is real.

I’m not a big fan of Mecum auctions. Buyers don’t seem to be into Bimmers, or German cars.

Description says retrofitted 5 speed but photos show an automatic. Mecum couldn’t be bothered to take current pictures?

agreed, which means perhaps as a buyer you might pick it up under value. I’d never try to sell one on mecum

Think he wanted $60k and additional $ to convert to a stick shift if desired

I thought a car like that would be a bad place for mecum until I saw this sell. And I was thinking to offer my coupe for sale there as its only an hour away but was too cheap to pay the $500 to put it in, haha. Or it's money laundering, who knows.

The video included showed the car as is, with the 5-speed and the 'working new' AC. Looks like they put an apple CarPlay in there as well. If it went for $66k and it was solid, not a bad car.
