Hello:

I've tried multiple style wrenches, multitude of hours, all sorts of contortionism, and bloody hands and fingers while attempting to remove the air intake manifold from my CS. Bottom bolts .

Although not a mechanic, this isn't my first restoration. I'm befuddled as to how challenging it is to remove this assembly and at an impasse.

Hence my arrival to this site.

What is the trick or tool to accessing and removing bottom bolts from the intake manifold? 6 bottom bolts should be simple, right?

Please help me as my hands are hemorrhaging and I'm quite frustrated with myself and the vehicle.

James

I can't remember for sure how I got it done, but this might be it.
1. Box end wrench
2. Rotate 2 degrees
3. Flip wrench upsidedown
4. Rotate 2 degrees
Repeat

Yup, there are about four bolts on the bottom of the intake that are a bear to get to. As I recall I used a crows foot wrench when torquing them on, and removal was with an open end wrench as Chris describes.
