Reference documents for my stubborn self, as anyone who is interested in data. These are all euro numbers. The 2800 CS has 170 DIN hp. I’ve referenced higher numbers for the euro motor in the past.

Amazing book written on the shop floor by H.P.R. References frequently by our great CSL experts on the forum.

Conflict. I think this is for the M30B28 as found in the 528i and 628i. I personally don’t believe
that the 2.8 motor was referred to as an M30B28 and likewise for the 3.0. I think that this data is too new, and the motors are fuel objected. I hope that someone can educate me on this.

Unfortunately the Blue Books don’t show the US 3.0CS compression ratio of 8.1:1 (or 8.3:1?) with flat top pistons. The 2800 has piano tops with 9.0:1 so both produce 170hp in the US.

Yeah that is unfortunate. Regardless, the numbers on the euro/us 2800 CS aren't greater than a 3.0 in any form, but you already knew that. ;)

If you had never seen pictures of the car, for $26K you would expect Muenster, not Swiss...so a good price indeed. The comments on BAT were much less disparaging than I would have expected.
