As I work thru the rebuild I find some brackets I don't know what they are or where they mount. I also have apparently lost a few. Attached is a photo of the Mystery Brackets.

PN: 41621802017/18 trunk mechanism stops -I need these if anyone has a set to spare?

Any help appreciated!☺

I don’t recall coming across those brackets. Paging @Wladek, he likely would have zinc plated them if they go on the e9.

I am pretty confident that I have the metal stoppers. I won’t be able to look for a few days. Shipping from the US should be about $20.

Those don't look familiar to me either. Might help to know their size, but would guess that they weren't made by BMW. Maybe they were used for mounting something like an aftermarket radio or speakers.

Thanks everyone I recalled they had something to do with the bumper but could not find the schematic. It took me about 3 weeks to get the rear bumper to fit properly including reworking the end caps. Now I can tackle the front bumper! Refurbishing this car eats into any spare time available!

And I get a pass because those parts were long since lost on my 2800 CS. Not clear to me what the "stopper" was intended to stop.

Good observation Peter A!
complete ditto

I don’t think my 73 even has them so I can’t imagine what purpose they serve, they wouldn’t be on earlier coupes.
Chris, i wonder if yours fell off during the resto and never made it back on. very obscure part
