1972 Euro CSi on BaT

It seems like a lot of work importing this fairly recently (2024) and with Oldenzaal rebuilding the motor, etc. it must have cost a lot. Strange in a way, after having to import and the initial cost the seller would go "no reserve" and sell fairly quickly after taking ownership.

This will most likely benefit the buyer as I'm guess they will take a significant loss on this.
 
Spoke with someone who saw the car up close. Not a positive reaction at all. Mentioned getting close to the car and smelling "the paint off gassing."

I just sold a 72 2002 for a friend. It had a respray in the original color and spent time at Oldenzaal. We do not, however, if Oldenzaal did the respray. Their work is uneven at best. They turn so many cars around I wonder if they have the time or the inclination to do Carl or Coupe King level work.

Does this version of malaga look a little lighter shade to anyone else besides me?
To me this is what a proper Malaga finish should look like. I had a 1971 2002 that I bought new in Malaga. As the paint got thin down the middle of the hood ridge it was clear that the primer was a very light color, almost a white primer. I think that is part of it, the finish on some areas may be thin and you are seeing the effect of the light primer. Most cars repainted in Malaga look to me to be a good bit darker than the original. And when my car was repainted it was darker than the OE finish. Part of that could be what it is painted over. Since parts of this car still have original paint they worked to match that and I really can't tell what is repainted and what isn't,so it looks to me to be done pretty well. Obviously to see it in person would be more telling. Also note that in some of the shots where the car looks lighter are taken in very bright sunlight and that could be part of it too.
